Waberer’s renews its fleet with a record breaking 12 billion HUF investment
Despite being right in the middle of a worldwide pandemic, Waberer’s International plc intends to execute one of its biggest investments ever. The market leader logistics company modernizes its fleet by ordering the latest Volvo and Renault truck models and all this is done within a record breaking 12 billion HUF investment agreement that has never been done before in Hungary or in fact in any of the producer companies’ history.
Hungary’s biggest heavy-duty truck fleet will literally take the next step in environmental care with this renewal, as it will now meet the latest European fuel emission standards (Euro VI). The purchase of these new trucks is not only beneficial for the company’s ambitious goals towards cutting emissions and lowering fuel consumption, but it also takes driver comfort to an even higher level with excellent drivability and safety. The new models will be put in national and international traffic in the second half of this year.
Waberer’s has already proved its competences in the earlier phases of the COVID-19 pandemic when it helped tremendously with securing continuous food supply and also safely delivering protective gears to public institutions. The renewal of the fleet with these 250 New Generation Volvo heavy-duty trucks and 190 more of Renault’s newest TCK Evolution models will continue to provide a strong base for the same high level of services offered by Waberer’s Group.
The Volvo models will be of the Swedish producer’s latest, brand new generation of heavy-duty trucks, launched to market in 2020. The Volvo FH trucks with 460 hp (2 600 Nm) D13TC (Turbo Compound) engines allow to cut fuel consumption by up to 10% compared to the previous models, keeping the same high average speed levels. The new Volvo trucks will arrive to Waberer’s equipped with the biggest Globetrotter XL size cabs, the full safety package, the new parking cooler, 4 batteries, internet-connected 9-inch touchscreen side displays and the new LED high beam headlights.
Waberer’s-Szemerey Logistics (WSZL) and Waberer’s International will receive RenaultTrucks’ newest TCK Evolution 2021 models. In order to elevate drivers’ well-being and improve safety, RenaultTrucks have made significant developments regarding both drivability and cab comfort. Some of these brand new improvements include adjustable steering column, LED headlights, additional and optimized storage spaces, advanced Serenity bed and the latest safety sensors.
Although both of the above mentioned producer companies have a long and fruitful working relationship with Waberer’s Group, Volvo Trucks Hungary have not received an order this big neither from Waberer’s nor in fact from any other hungarian transport companies since 2018. This is by far the largest order in RenaultTrucks’ history as well, who have also been nurturing a collaboration with WSZL for 20 years.
"As a leading logistics company, we at Waberer’s are doing our very best to keep on providing the same reassuring stability and the highest quality of services to all our customers and thus their customers as well. It is in our best interest to make our decisions (regarding these kinds of expansion) with environmental awareness and also employee satisfaction in our minds. This current renewal of our fleet meets all of those expectations and it is indeed an important step towards strengthening our company’s sound foundations" – says Barna Erdélyi, CEO of Waberer’s International plc.
